Vaccinations

According to The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, when a critical portion of a community is immunized against a contagious disease like flu, most members of the community are protected against that disease. Immunization helps protect against outbreaks, and can create "community immunity," a phenomenon that might benefit people who aren't eligible to receive certain vaccines.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website includes guidelines, schedules and resources for protecting individuals of all ages from harmful diseases.
